Hong Kong teacher delegation visits Nanjing

A delegation of Hong Kong teachers who won the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence arrived in Nanjing for educational exchange on Oct 28.

Wei Julong, deputy director of the Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE), welcomed the delegation.

During the five-day exchange tour, the delegation visited Nanjing Normal University High School, Nanjing No.13 High School and Nanjing Elementary School of Baiyunyuan, participating in class teaching and reviewing.

The Hong Kong teachers spoke about the development of Hong Kong basic education as well as the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence. They exchanged ideas on education and communication methods and curriculum plans with local schools.

Dr. Ni Juan, deputy director of the Jiangsu Institute of Education, gave a lecture to the delegation on the latest developments in basic education in Jiangsu province in the fields of teaching, scientific research and connotation construction.

Besides teaching communication, the delegation also visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, the Ming Tomb and the Confucius Temple.

The exchange program contributes to the educational cooperation between Jiangsu province and Hong Kong, said an official of JESIE.
