Huai'an Experimental Primary School was founded in 1908, it was originally named the Affiliated Primary School to Jiangbei Normal University. After a century odd development, the school has gathered a profound cultural heritage and formed its sound tradition of school administration along with a distinctive feature of school running. The school features "low burden, high quality, unique distinction" and has received awards both of national and provincial level for more than 50 times. The school covers an area of 300 mu, and its primary school department consists of four areas, 173 classes and 8,600 students, while its kindergarten department has four school areas, 68 classes and 2500 young students. The teaching faculty of its kindergarten reaches more than 700, of which 67 hold a senior teacher title and eight hold a master's degree.

Huai'an Experimental Primary School of Jiangsu Province has always attached great importance to international communications and cooperation, and has established school-level communication relations with four schools from UK, America, Canada and South Korea respectively. And it has received almost 200 foreign teachers for short visit, and has sent one teacher to be stationed in America to teach in "Confucius Class" for one year.
