Jinling Primary School
Jinling Primary School was set up in 2012. The main student body is the children of staffs from Nanjing University.
With the leadership of Jiangsu Education and Services Center for International Exchanges (JESIE), the international cooperation and exchange programs are developing rapidly at Jingling Primary School. During the summer vacation in 2013, JESIE invited 6 English teaching professionals from UK to lead our English summer camp named “Breathing English”. In the two-week program, more than 150 students and teachers benefited from the interactive teaching environment. We also organized delegation of teachers and students to attend the activity called "A Handshake across the Ocean" in San Francisco. The representatives learned a lot from this trip.
In the process of international cooperation, the international exchange programs have greatly helped the development of our schools. These programs change our teachers’ teaching philosophies. Teachers pay more attention to and respect each individual's learning need. Meanwhile, our students have more direct experience of foreign countries. For example, students who have been to the U.S. noticed the fresh air, the high civilization and the good universities here. They are inspired to learn their courses harder. Most importantly, we have learned western teaching philosophies and methodologies in these programs. Friendship is cultivated during our cooperation. Both teachers and students are highly encouraged to learn English and western cultures by these exchange programs. Our school has won very good reputation among parents.
Though our school was only set up for three year, at the registration period for the first graders in May 2013, more than 2,000 parents wished to send their children to our school. More than 20 children from about 10 different countries and regions enrolled in our first class of the International Section. Parents love our school's all-round development philosophy and international vision.
