(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated:2016-01-08

Binjiang College of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) will set up a branch in Wuxi, announced the Wuxi education bureau recently.

The establishment of Binjiang College is part of Wuxi's emphasis on higher education during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).

The college now has 12,000 students in 37 majors in Nanjing, Jiangsu province.

Wuxi authorities are selecting its site and are expected to sign an agreement with the NUIST in 2016.

A university is of inestimable value to a city because it is a technology incubator and a source of culture, innovation and talented people.

Wuxi also has branches of other well-known universities, such as the Wuxi Fisheries College of Nanjing Agriculture University, the Wuxi branch of Southeast University, the Peking University School of Software and Microelectronics at Wuxi, the Wuxi Electromechanical College of Jiangsu University and Jiangsu Normal University Kewen College.
