Jiangsu universities win 25 State Science and Technology Awards

Sixteen universities in Jiangsu won 25 awards at the 2015 State Science and Technology Awards, ranking the province second in China, it was announced recently.
The awards are the most prized by Chinese science and technology researchers, and those won by Jiangsu province accounted for 14 percent of the national total.
Nanjing University and Southeast University each won second prize in the "natural science" category. Six universities won "technological invention" prizes and 13 universities were crowned in the "sci-tech progress" category.
Nanjing University ranked first of the Jiangsu universities with four prizes, followed by Nanjing Agricultural University and China University of Mining and Technology with three each.
The State Science and Technology Awards has been held annually since 2000. The results are released in January each year.
