Seven people from Jiangsu elected as academicians

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), released their lists of 131 newly-elected academicians, including seven from Jiangsu.
The list was compiled at the end of 2015 and includes 61 academicians of CAS and 70 of CAE.
The seven elected academicians are from Jiangsu, include three of CAS and four of CAE. So far, Jiangsu has 43 academicians of CAS and 53 of CAE (96 in total), both ranking first among all provinces in China.
The biennial election of academy members is the highest accolade for scientists in China and it is the first time for the "Two Academies" to release the lists of newly selected members after announcing to reform the electoral systems in early 2015.
Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering are collectively known as "Two Academies" of China. CAS and CAE are national research institutions in China, respectively pioneering in natural sciences and engineering technologies.
