Jiangsu universities boast most invention patents in the country

The Ministry of Education recently released its lists of the top 50 universities for authorized invention patents in 2015, with Jiangsu coming in at first place.
The two lists, for “most invention patents authorized in 2015”, and “most valid invention patents”, saw Jiangsu universities coming out on top with 10 and nine universities included, respectively.
Jiangsu universities scored 15,369 invention patents in 2015, scoring the province top spot in China.
Southeast University in Nanjing with had 1,453 invention patents authorized in 2015 and 3,877 valid patents overall and ranked first in the two categories among all Jiangsu universities, and third and fifth in the country.
The other eight universities among the top 50 with the most valid invention patents were Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Jiangnan University, Hohai University, Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing University, Soochow University and China University of Mining and Technology.
The above nine universities as well as Changzhou University were among the top 50 with the most invention patents authorized in 2015.
