The Jiangsu-Dutch vocational education shadowing program held its opening ceremony at the Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Commerce on May 30.
The program, jointly launched by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, involved a series of exchange activities for college teachers and officials from both sides, such as teaching demonstration and evaluation, and seminars on disciplinary development and college-enterprise cooperation.
The organizers selected 11 Jiangsu and 11 Dutch vocational institutions, with majors excelling in hotel management and tourism, creative industry, information and communication technology, agriculture and gardening, and health and medical treatment.
Apart from drawing advanced experience from the Dutch partner, the Jiangsu educational authority also hoped that the program can contribute to more global cooperation opportunities as well as demonstrate the provincial resources and advantages in vocational education.
The Dutch delegation is visiting Jiangsu partner institutions from May 30 to June 7, while the Jiangsu participants plan to visit the Netherlands in 2017.
