Binjiang College of NUIST to settle in Wuxi

Wuxi government and Nanjing University of
Information Science & Technology (NUIST) signed a cooperation framework
agreement on June 17 to jointly build Binjiang College of NUIST in the city,
Wuxi Daily reported.
The college is aimed to cultivate highly qualified technicians accommodating the development demand of the municipal economy by offering full-time undergraduate education and various training programs.
Government officials said that the new college will help to provide a broader education and better qualified workers in the future.
Binjiang College will be the third higher education institution in the city following Jiangnan University and Southeast University's Wuxi branch.
NUIST, founded in 1960, was previously the Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, and is one of China's key higher education institutions. Its discipline of Atmospheric Science ranked No. 1 in the country in 2012, according to a study by the Ministry of Education.
