Campus football league finals underway in Jiangsu

The finals of the 2016 Jiangsu Youth Campus Football League got underway on July 18, with 35 teams and more than 600 players from across the province competing for the "Governor's Cup".
It is the fourth time for Zhangjiagang to host the competition which has been held in the Jiangsu since 1997. When the competition got underway in April there were more than 1,500 and 77 teams from across the province.
Shen Jian, director-general of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, attended a ceremony marking the beginning of the final rounds.
The annual Youth Campus Football League is jointly sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Sports, and is the highest level youth football competition in the province, aiming at improving teenagers' overall football skills and boosting football development in China.
