Jiangsu hosts training program for Xinjiang teachers

The opening ceremony of the Kizilsu teacher training program was held at Kizilsu Bilingual Training School in Xinjiang on July 13.
The program, which runs from July 12 to 18, was set up by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education as part of an exchange to improve teaching in the Kizilsu Kirghiz autonomous prefecture.
Cao Yumei, the deputy director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Cui Jinsong, the director of the United Front Work Department of Kizilsu addressed the ceremony.
Cui thanked the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education for its aid and said that Kizilsu has made significant progress in its education system.
More than 300 principals and teachers from across Kizilsu in Xinjiang attended the program, which featured lectures from Jiangsu education specialists.
Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education also announced a donation of 200,000 yuan ($29,400) to further boost the educational development in the prefecture.
