The summer social practice for foreign students with the theme of "Appreciation of the Beauty of Jiangsu and Promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative" was organized by the Overseas Education College of NUPT, starting from July 7 to July 9. Foreign students from over 10 countries such as Kenya and Ghana took part in the summer social practice.

In Qiandeng town, foreign students watched the performance of Kunqu Opera and enjoyed the beautiful traditional opera at the origin of Kunqu opera. The performance was so beautiful that students would never forget about it. In the former residence of Gu Yanwu, they received the Confucius education and understood why everyone has a share of responsibility for the fate of his country. In Anfeng town, they learned the folk art and culture and experienced the wonderful local life by interacting and performing together with local folk artists. At Tiaozini intertidal zone, they saw the achievement of the reclamation project made by people in Dongtai city. The land has now been used as the national storage base of food supplies. At the coastal Saline-alkali Soil, people built up wind-power generators, photovoltaic power generators, and fish plantation. This three-dimensional industry is a symbol of fully utilizing environmental resources and innovation. At Huanghai national park, they visited the natural oxygen bar which has over 3,000 negative oxygen ion. This invaluable legacy comes from the largest forest in Jiangsu and the trees there were planted by educated youth 50 years ago. In the history museum of countryside in Gangang village, they were amazed by the magical China Speed after hearing the report about the achievements of countryside development in modern China. As the first foreign student summer social practice, the party committee and administration office in NUPT thought highly of this event and made careful preparations before it.

The staff of Overseas Education College and International Exchange and Cooperation Office and representatives from New York Institute of Technology in NUPT participated in the summer social practice.

The Belt and Road Initiative is short for the Silk Road economic belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road. It will utilize the bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms of China and other countries along the belt and the road with the assist of the existing and effective regional cooperation platform. With the historic symbol of ancient Silk Road and the aim of peaceful development, the Belt and the Road actively promotes the economic cooperation partnership among the countries along the belt and the road in order to build a community of shared interest, fate, and responsibility with politics inter-trust, economic integration, and cultural tolerance.

Amos is a postgraduate student from the Republic of Ghana (Ghana), who studies Communication Engineering at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunication (NUPT) from 2014, is being interviewed by the TV reporters. As vice president of the Student Union, he devotes himself to serve the foreign students. He is not only a mature and intelligent student, but also a caring older brother to others. He is also a China hand with HSK Level 4 as well as a lot of Chinese friends. 

Chadwick, a postgraduate student from Ghana, another student of Communication Engineering at NUPT from 2015, is grounding soy milk. He is a beloved president of the Student Union, who has a wide range of interests such as communicating, arts, photography, and Chinese culture. He is also an English host of the radio station on campus. 

The smiling sisters are Corinne and Brenda. Corinne is a Business Management undergraduate student and Brenda is a Communication Engineering undergraduate student in NUPT from 2015. They are very alike, and both optimistic and outgoing. 

Maria, a Business Management undergraduate student in NUPT from 2015, who comes from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, is performing with folk artists. She is an energetic and enthusiastic girl, who loves singing, dancing and especially Chinese traditional dancing. 

Rahama, a Business Management undergraduate student in NUPT from 2015, who is from the Republic of Djibouti is smiling when she watches Kunqu Opera. She is gorgeous and outgoing, who loves life and learning Chinese.
