Eight research teams from five prestigious Jiangsu universities recently won financial support from the Ministry of Education. 

Each of the teams will get a fund of three million yuan ($441,223) to be drawn between January 2018 and December 2020. 

This is aimed at promoting team development, encouraging scientific achievements, boosting international cooperation, and strengthening talent cultivation. 

The teams include one led by professor Wang Peifang from Hohai University regarding water resource protection and ecological restoration. Another is a Nanjing University-based research team looking at stabilized monetary policies during economic transitional periods. Professor Jin Wanqin is guiding research project on particular types of separation membranes. There will also be studies on plant nutrition developed by Zhao Fangjie, a professor from Nanjing Agricultural University.
