Although designed to be Alipay-like, a mobile payment tool developed by tech giant Alibaba that usually processes payments by connecting to personal bank accounts, the platform is more like a virtual wallet, as students can transfer money from their bank accounts and deposit some for campus services.
“What I need to do is just scan the QR code, that’s all -- I can have my payment finished in just a few seconds. It’s so convenient,” exclaimed Li Yue, a second year student from the school of foreign languages.
The platform is embedded in the app iXiaozhuang. Boasting an average of over 10,000 active daily users, the app has brought a lot of ease and convenience to the students and teachers at Xiaozhuang, providing them with handy access to course and exam arrangements, school bus timetables, admissions and employment information.
