Early childhood education was of first and foremost importance to both sides. They called for more visits and exchanges between kindergarten teachers, as well as an online platform that will enable teachers to share educational resources shared in a more convenient way. 

They also found more common ground on basic education, such as co-developing courses in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and encouraging more students to continue their studies in Victoria. 

The Chinese side proposed deepening ties on vocational education, inviting students from Victoria to attend a prominent skills competition held in Jiangsu every year.
