Teenagers show off AI design talent in Suzhou

An annual competition inviting teenagers from across China to show off their talent in artificial intelligence design kicked off in Suzhou, East China’s Jiangsu province on Aug 13.
The contest encouraged the youngsters to design cutting-edge products that solved real life problems or tackled challenges humanity may face in the future.
More than 100 young scientists competed for the top prize at Suzhou’s youth activity center, showcasing their designs for automated storage and retrieval systems, self-driving vehicles and smart home gadgets.
The competition was the joint effort of various Chinese and overseas bodies, including the China Brain Bee Challenge, Carnegie Mellon University in the US, and a maker space for young entrepreneurs based in Suzhou’s National Innovation Park.
