Jiangsu college teachers gathered in Suzhou on Jan 3-4 and held a group “teaching rehearsal”.

The major topics included ideological and political theory courses, traditional Chinese cultural courses, and popular professional courses.

Wang Chengbin, deputy director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, regarded the event as a positive preliminary activity to improve Jiangsu’s higher education and meet the needs of the new age.

The event also aimed to encourage teachers to focus on the students’ class performances, pay attention to their teaching feedbacks, and work hard to improve each aspect of their teaching.

“We are at a time when higher education should put emphasis on its connotation development and improve its discipline and major construction,” Wang said.

Some 1,000 school officials, experts and frontline education workers attended the event.
