A team from Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute (YPI) won gold prize at the China-UK Youth Innovation and Enterprise Skills Competition at London South Bank University on March 23.
The youngsters stood out due to their performance in analyzing market surroundings, simulating business operations, and final reporting. They were awarded the highest honor, besting 11 other teams from China and the University of Leeds and University of Derby in the UK.
The winners said the competition helped them turn their theoretical knowledge into hands-on experience. Their team spirit has also been reenergized with improved abilities in decision-making, carrying out plans, and dealing with emergencies.
The students also owe their success to the professional guidance offered by teachers from YPI and experts from the Yangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
The preliminary sessions of the competition started last year in celebration of China and the UK having established full diplomatic relations for 45 years. The event was co-organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China and the UK’s National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education.
