On the same day, the Jiangsu provincial departments of education and commerce officially launched an information platform, where schools capable of cultivating international students and companies in need of talent for overseas operations can register.
The platform was nicknamed a "talent map", as it serves as a channel connecting schools, students and companies for student admission, cultivation, internships and employment. The platform, with internal access only, currently includes information about approximately 900 companies and over 7,000 international students.
Wang Chengbin, deputy director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, hopes that the job fair will become the first successful offline branch of the "talent map" and help integrate the online and offline sectors.
He also hopes colleges and universities will open up programs tailored to international students, and that companies will provide regular reports on students' internships and full-time jobs and work with schools to improve their programs based on these reports.
Cao Jianjiang, general manager of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone jointly developed by the Jiangsu local garment giant Hodo Group and the Cambodia International Investment Development Group, said his company was among the first to join the "talent map" program.
"Our company has benefited a lot since joining hands with the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce, and I hope we will see fruitful results from school-enterprise cooperation," Cao said.
