Jiangsu, Shaanxi share educational common ground

Education officials from Jiangsu and Shaanxi held talks in the northwest China province on July 10, sharing ideas on the promotion and development of mutual educational undertakings. 

Ge Daokai, director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, gave his opinions on the two provinces seeking more balanced and full-blown educational cooperation in the future. 

Ge attached importance to ensuring the two sides' cooperation was closely connected with the times, especially in the face of a national trend for educational modernization. He urged officials to carry out educational moves in more down-to-earth fields, taking account of public concerns. 

Wang Jianli, head of the Shaanxi education department, expressed his gratitude to the Jiangsu counterparts and said he expected to see the two sides achieving results more frequently and more fruitfully, and targeting more areas. 

Free talks were also carried out after these addresses, concerning such topics as cooperation in vocational education, exchanges of students and teachers, and strengthening professional educational capabilities. 

On the sidelines of the meeting, 20 education bureaus, 22 vocational colleges and universities and two adult colleges from Jiangsu and Shaanxi signed collaborative deals. 

The two provinces have maintained a solid relationship for 22 years. Their cooperation spread to the vocational education field in 2017, with various educational establishments having conducted frequent exchanges by this June.
