The 2018 Nanjing International Youth Exchange Program concluded July 21, after taking in some 80 college students from home and abroad.
The second time the Jiangsu provincial capital hosted such an event, this year's edition lasted for 18 days and was attended by over 50 students from world renowned universities, including Columbia University in the United States, the University of Munich in Germany, and Khon Kaen University in Thailand.
Twenty-five students from the local Nanjing University teamed up with their foreign counterparts. They dealt with enterprises across the province, took part in 56 themed activities and cooperated on 89 research reports.
The students played active roles in the program. Some shared their gains and feelings on social media, some put forward many enlightening proposals, and some considered living and working in China after the event.
At the closing ceremony on July 21, Shen Wenzu, deputy secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, extended his best wishes to the students. He said he hoped they could take the program as a bridge connecting China and their home countries.
The students, school officials and enterprise representatives also sang and danced at the closing ceremony, expressing their nostalgia for many enjoyable moments.
