China in the lead at World University Bridge Championship

The four-day 2018 FISU World University Bridge Championship (WUC Bridge) got underway at the Xuzhou University of Technology in East China's Jiangsu province on Oct 25.
Hosted by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the event hosted 10 teams from China, Poland, Belgium, Japan, Comorin, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Thailand, with 63 athletes and officials attending
Three teams of students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Xuzhou University of Technology are representing China in WUC Bridge.
The competitions were fierce and suspenseful, fully reflecting the
characteristics of the popular mind game, which has high requirements for
athletes in terms of their physical and psychological strength and energy, while
asking them to stay calm and show their personal wisdom and skills on the
field.
The event adopted a double-cycle integral system; each team has 18
rounds of games to play.
The China 1 team took the championship, with those from Poland and the Czech Republic close behind.
Zhang Xinke, Party chief of Xuzhou University of Technology, said WUC Bridge offered a great opportunity for Chinese and foreign athletes to maintain friendships and learn from each other.
