Peer-to-peer trend sparks Jiangsu online education

The peer-to-peer economy is thriving in China, with taxi, food delivery and bicycle sharing sectors gathering great momentum.
On Nov 8, a peer-to-peer education app, through which students can get real-time answers from teachers to solve study problems, was launched in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province.
The app was pilot tested recently in Gulou district from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm Monday to Saturday for junior-level mathematics problems. Teachers from the area receive an appeal once a student raises a question.
"Teachers can vie to figure out the problem, whether by voice, video, text or picture answers," said Hou Zhengyong, deputy head of the district's education bureau.
"The system will soon be available to solve all junior-level academic problems, while primary and high school level apps are also being prepared."
The 19-day pilot run received 1,317 questions, 46 of them were solved by teachers in just one minute, and 30 percent were received detailed voice or video answers last five minutes or more.
Teachers can accumulate credits after figuring out the problems. The more they settle, the more that will count in further promotions.
