Jiangsu highlights campus financial security

The need to enhance the awareness of financial security among college students is of top priority.
A recent survey concerning the financial knowledge of college students showed 15 percent of the interviewed group held the idea of financial risk as having nothing to do with them and showed total indifference to financial insecurities that had taken place in their daily lives.
Carrying this idea, the 2018 Jiangsu Province Financial Festival for University Students kicked off in Nanjing, the provincial capital on Nov 20, motivating numerous students and engaging experts and scholars from local schools and financial institutions.
Themed around creating a protection wall of financial security around the campus, experts introduced the students to some basic financial knowledge, such as deposits and withdrawals, self-wealth management, online consuming, mobile payments, and start-up loans.
The students witnessed the initiation of a written proposal, extending their common wish to enhance financial understanding, properly use financial instruments, and safeguard financial security around the campus.
A competition testing the students' financial knowledge was also held, with the 30 top scorers being offered the chance to interview for an internship at a local bank.
The festival will last for a month, bringing students a large variety of edutainment activities.
