Robot competition commences in Taizhou

The 2018 China Robot Skills Competition commenced in Taizhou city, Jiangsu province on Dec 8-9, attracting over 1,000 college, primary and secondary school students. 

The competition was initiated by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence in 2017, aiming to arouse students' interests in robotics and encourage them to actively be engaged. 

The event included different categories of robots, such as ones for the service industry, industrial engineering, cultural recreation, sports, and military security. They were tested for diversified aspects of abilities. 

Over 300 university teams attended the event, including the prestigious Southeast University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nankai University, Xiamen University, Nanjing University, Sichuan University and Wuhan University.
