A science and technology competition targeting primary and secondary students in Jiangsu recently drew to a close in the provincial capital of Nanjing.

The competition, attended by 24 students in eight groups, consisted of a series of questions and quizzes.

One segment live connected academicians and invited them to ask questions to the young participants.

Many questions with a close connection to daily life or hot topics were also asked at the event.

After a fierce competition, teams from Suzhou's Wujiang district and China-Singapore Industrial Park, and Nantong's Tongzhou district took the top prizes.

Launched in 1995, the competition has engaged millions of participants every year with the aim of enhancing students' overall science and technology capacity. The competition attracted the participation of a record of 1.4 million people this year.

The competition was launched by the provincial education department, the association for science and technology, the civilization office, and the provincial science and technology department.
