Jiangsu sees 562,000 college graduates in 2018

The aggregated number of college graduates from Jiangsu reached 562,000 in 2018, 6,000 higher than last year, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education published recently.
Among which, 51,000 are postgraduates, 272,000 are undergraduates, and 239,000 are from technical colleges.
Jiangsu remains to be attractive to college graduates, with 330,000 of them choosing to work in the province after graduation, accounting for 78 percent of the students who actually work after graduation.
The municipalities of Shanghai and Beijing, as well as Zhejiang, Guangdong and Anhui provinces are also top choices for local college graduates.
338,000 graduates have chosen to work at grass-roots positions, accounting for 62.1 percent of the total. The special recruiting and selecting programs, graduates of which will serve at the less developed regions like China's western and Jiangsu's rural areas, also attracted some 3,000 students.
Manufacturing, software and information technology, education account for the top three fields that have included the most graduates, with 72,000, 37,000 and 31,000 respectively.
