Jiangsu colleges add two new national scientific research platforms

The National Development and Reform Commission recently announced it will put on schedule a new group of scientific research platforms, which won joint support from the country and regional departments.
Among the three new scientific research platforms in Jiangsu province, two were built within local higher learning institutions – one initiated by Southeast University to work on intelligent construction, operation and maintenance, another brought forward by Changzhou University focusing on the efficient refining and high usage of biomass.
It was the first time Changzhou University had launched such a national-level scientific research platform, marking a new chapter of scientific studies for the school and giving new momentum to its support of regional and national development.
An important driving force for innovation, the national scientific research platform is built to highlight the industrial features and advantages of a specific region and to spare no effort to solve the technological and equipment problems affecting the region's industrial development.
The platform will boost regional technological progress and structural adjustment, fostering the modernization of the local economy and inspiring more innovation and improved competence.
