The first Nanjing Global Talent Week, with the tagline "Attract the best minds and work together for prosperity", will be held in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, from June 23 to 29. 

The seven-day event will include 18 activities targeting international industrial elites and the general public, such as a discussion session between makers, a competition designed for graduates of Southeast University who have started their own business, and a reading and sharing party for entrepreneurs. 

More than 2,000 scientists, industrial leaders and model entrepreneurs from 10 countries including the United States, Germany and Italy will take part in the event. They include Nobel Prize winner Dan Shechtman, a professor of materials sciences, Igor Emri, a professor of mechanics at the University of Ljubljana in Russia, and Hikmet Sari, professor at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and chief scientist at Sequans Communications in Paris, France. 

The logo and mascot of the event were also revealed. The logo combines the colors of red, orange, green, blue and black to highlight the city's eagerness to attract global talents. The mascot, named Junjun, resembles an animated image of a horse, which commonly represents talent in Chinese society.
