Education insiders from Jiangsu and Shaanxi provinces shared their insights into deepening mutual education ties in Nanjing on Aug 1, according to officials.
A total of 21 vocational schools from the two sides, one in East China and one in the Northwest, signed cooperative agreements at the meeting.
They reached consensus on pragmatic programs such as co-building laboratories, training centers and featured majors and paving the way for Shaanxi students to work in Jiangsu, as answering the call to strengthen the northwestern province's education and meet the eastern coastal area's ever-growing need for professionals.
The two provinces, enjoying close ties for more than 20 years, have paired more than 1,600 schools and carried out cooperation in co-running schools, setting up branch schools, and offering teacher training.
"We will on the one hand highlight teacher training, while on the other ride Jiangsu's digital tide to make more quality educational resources available to our students living in remote areas," said Liu Jianlin, deputy director of the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government.
