High-tech institute to be set up in Suzhou

A cooperative agreement was inked recently between Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and Suzhou New District on jointly establishing a local research institute.
According to the agreement, its five-year construction will give birth to an institute that features research into and applications of high-end industrial technologies, incubation of high-tech enterprises, the integration of military and civilian-driven industries, and training of entrepreneurial and innovative personnel.
The agreement also suggest that by the end of construction, the institute will bring in and incubate more than 20 sci-tech enterprises and help five enterprises climb on the national high-tech enterprises list.
The institute will also house at least 350 staff members, half of which will be research personnel and over 30 percent of whom will have obtained master's degrees and above.
