Jiangsu has played an active role in offering educational support to China's remote areas, having recently dispatched groups of teachers to Qinghai province, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Tibet autonomous region.
Wang Chengbin, deputy director of the provincial educational department, said during his recent visit to the Kezilesu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture in Xinjiang that Jiangsu has always carried the spirit of offering sincere, customized and consistent educational support to China's more remote areas.
Teachers from the province adhere to the principle of "better teach their peers to fish than to give them a fish". On one hand they try to share their teaching ideas and management styles, while on the other hand they are learning from each other and taking the best from both sides.
The efforts made by each side have seen tangible results yielded in recent years, such as a wider coverage of students and teachers benefiting, direct financial aid in the form of millions of yuan, and cooperative vocational education programs enabling students to study in the eastern Chinese province.
