Some 95 students from Japanese colleges and universities embarked on a study trip to East China's Jiangsu province from Aug 28 to Sept 3.
Themed "Beyond Imagination", the trip engaged students from 30 Japanese higher learning institutions – including Kanazawa University, Gifu University, Mie University and Nagoya University.
Local cities, among Changzhou and Suzhou in the province's southern region, offered the students an impressive and immersive trip which aimed to stimulate their imaginations.
Organizers said they encountered an expressway car service center boasting unusual dinosaur features and were also encircled by a huge screen resembling the starry sky. They put on hanfu clothing to learn about traditional Chinese rituals among other things.
The trip was organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Consulate-General of China in Nagoya and the China National Tourist Office in Osaka.
Many Jiangsu schools have established friendly relationships with their Japanese counterparts, including the Soochow University in Suzhou, which now has over 100 Japanese students studying on campus.
