A job fair targeting high-level professionals took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Sept 22, connecting job seekers with companies.
A total of 130 renowned domestic enterprises and research institutes, including Tencent, SAIC Maxus, and Simcere, offered more than 1,820 jobs to 3,000 job seekers.
The annual event is the largest to ever take place in Jiangsu and focused on five promising industries – integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, biological medicine, and software and information services.
Statistics from the Nanjing bureau of industry and information technology show that by 2025, the city's need for talent in the aforementioned industries will climb to 70,000, of which 30 percent will be high-level personnel.
The event also set up an online talent pool, further helping job seekers and companies connect.
The job fair has been held 32 times and attracted 37,415 professionals and 3,861 enterprises, making it the most influential event of its kind in the Yangtze River Delta region.
