A primary school in Suzhou, Jiangsu province held an interactive shadow play activity on Oct 10, giving students the chance to experience one of the city's most famous traditional arts.
Tang Layuan, a local shadow play practitioner, taught the students how to make puppets using out of paper and wood sticks as well as a wide range of performance skills.
The students were enchanted by the ancient Chinese folk art, which tell stories using flat articulated figures, light and a translucent screen.
The students even tried their own hands at animating the figures, which can be made to walk, dance, fight, nod and laugh.
