A friendly collegiate basketball match between China and the United States kicked off in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, on Nov 6.
The first match, opened at 4pm, was presented by one team from the University of Colorado Boulder and another joined by Tsinghua University and Soochow University members.
Gap between the two teams was gradually widened. The US players collaborated and scored points in full swing, while their Chinese counterparts took a long time to get match fit and struggled to improve their performance.
The game concluded at 42:109. Though the Chinese team lagged far behind their US competitors, the top scorer was crowned by number 25 Wang Lanqin, who took 25 points and managed two steals.
The next match kicked off at 6:30pm. The joint team of China's Peking University and Soochow University maintained a lead over Arizona State University nearly the entire first half and threatened to pull away on multiple occasions. But speed and strength of the American players gradually dominated the court and finally notched the score at 113:64.
The friendly matches were warm-ups of the Pac-12 (Pacific-12 Conference) China-US Collegiate Basketball Friendly which aimed to boost cultural exchanges between the players and broadened their horizons.
University of Colorado Boulder is one of the top teams of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the US. Arizona State University has gained the best 23 wins at NCAA last season. Tsinghua University, Peking University and Soochow University are top members of the Chinese University Basketball Association.
