Some 80 international students from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics were invited to an activity promoting the city on Nov 22.
They were first introduced to the enchanting autumn scenery of Qixia Mountain, where the sun danced over the endless vibrantly-colored trees.
"Nanjing is so beautiful at this time of year; it’s like walking through a painting," said Zhang Xin (Chinese name), a fourth-year student from Indonesia, "I would like to stay in Nanjing after my graduation next year."
The students also paid a visit to the local gold foil museum, opening their eyes to the ancient forging techniques, a national intangible cultural heritage. At the Xingang High-tech Park, the students learned of its strength in developing artificial intelligence (AI) and potential to become an international AI hub in the future.
Representatives from the city's foreign affairs office, public security department, science and technology bureau, and high-tech enterprises briefed the students on issues concerning visas, traffic safety, and starting up their own businesses in Nanjing.
A student from Nepal said she felt proud and honored that her hometown, the Nepali capital of Katmandu, recently became a sister city to Nanjing.
According to a staff member at the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office, the activity sought to teach the international students about Nanjing and serve as a platform for overseas students to unleash their talent in Nanjing.
