A job fair for overseas students studying in Jiangsu opened in the province's southern city of Zhenjiang on Dec 14.
The fair attracted some 100 international students, as well as more than 10 businesses from inside and outside the province, including YTO Group, a leading agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer, and BOE, an internet of things company providing intelligent interface products and services for information interactions and human health.
Aside from business representatives talking about their vacancies and related salary packages, students at the fair were also introduced to a "talent map" - an information platform initiated by the Jiangsu provincial departments of commerce and education which enables universities to cultivate international students and allows companies to seek potential employees.
The students had their information uploaded onto the platform, such as their majors and expected jobs and salaries, expanding the current talent pool which includes approximately 1,200 companies and over 8,000 international students.
A staff member from YTO Group gave a thumbs-up to the "talent map", saying the platform has offered support to domestic enterprises to get to know international employment conditions and acted as a bridge with targeted employers through online and on-site interactions.
After in-depth exchanges, several students reached preliminary agreements with companies on various working and internship opportunities.
A Pakistani student from Jiangsu University extended his gratitude to the fair for enabling him to grasp Chinese possibilities.
