The donation ceremony for Hello, My Friend, a bilingual audio book on international etiquette, was held at the East Beijing Road Primary School in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Dec 19.

A total of 38 schools, five of which are international schools and 33 are pioneers at international educational exchanges, were given the free books.

The book is the first children's book in China that blends international etiquette with features from local and sister cities. It was designed to enhance children's understanding of Nanjing and its sister cities, and encourage the youngsters to learn about courtesy, grasp the need for courtesy and act out courtesy.

The book was compiled by the Nanjing City Internationalization Promotion Office, the bureaus of commerce and education, the Foreign Affairs Office, and Phoenix Fine Arts Publishing.

"I hope every child can read this book and practice courtesy in their daily life," said Liu Hongwen, deputy head at the internationalization promotion office.
