East China's Jiangsu province held a video work meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming spring semester on April 2. Ge Daokai, director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, attended the event.

Schools were urged to start the new semester by taking prevention and control measures against COVID-19, particularly  imported cases, and were told not to treat the virus lightly, so as to ensure the health and safety of students and teachers.

In addition to giving priority to quality and modernized educational development, Jiangsu is also eyeing steady educational reform and development in order to support the public and better meet their educational needs.

Targeted education for each student is also one of Jiangsu's educational goals. It requires the province to follow a scientific pattern, recognize the educational needs of individual students, and continuously innovate.

This year marks a crucial year for Jiangsu in its mission to consolidate past achievements and break new ground. Educational reform and development will be strongly emphasized.

To achieve this goal, Jiangsu will staunchly follow the guidance of the central government, continue to modernize its educational governance system and capacity, solve educational problems, and improve educational reform.
