SuOn Centre, established in 2007 and located in Toronto, Canada, is the largest overseas base of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education (JPDE) for international educational exchange and training.

Primarily responsible for teachers' training programs for JPDE, SuOn has served and trained 8,420 teachers and educational administrators from Jiangsu province from 2008 to 2017, including 4,410 primary and secondary school teachers, 1,546 secondary and tertiary vocational school teachers, and 2,464 education administrators. In addition, 69 educational insiders from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Shandong, and other Chinese provinces were trained at the center.

It has organized four Canada Sub-forums for the International Forum for School Principals of Jiangsu Primary and Secondary Schools, and consecutively held four sessions of Chinese Culture Festivals, winning wide praise from local communities, Ontario's education colleagues, and the Consulate General of China in Toronto.

The academic papers designed by SuOn for overseas teacher trainings were published in international journals such as International Academic Conferences of the Ministry of Education and People's Daily.

The center has established close cooperative ties with a number of well-known education organizations, such as the University of Toronto, York University, University of Waterloo, the Ontario Ministry of Education, Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, Ontario Principals' Council, and Toronto District School Board.

Boasting a fully integrated system of teaching, living infrastructure, and technical equipment, the 10-storied center building occupies 10,000 square meters and has all its 20 classrooms equipped with modern teaching equipment. The building also has multi-purpose lecture halls, libraries, and computer rooms to meet all kinds of teaching needs.

It contains a full complement of living facilities with more than 300 climate-controlled single dormitories. The cafeteria can provide high-quality food for more than 400 people at the same time. Sports and entertainment facilities such as a table tennis room, a dance studio, and a gymnasium are also accessible to enrich the learners' extra-curricular lives.

Aiming to integrate international resources and promote education in Jiangsu, the center has made efforts to become an important overseas education base in North America for Jiangsu in the fields of education and training, pedagogy and school management, educational services, and education and cultural exchanges.

It will keep committed to improving education quality, developing its brand, and ultimately, promoting Chinese culture and strengthening international exchanges.
