80,000 postgraduates study online
Statistics show that by the end of April, more than 81,400 postgraduates from 30 colleges and universities in Jiangsu province were studying online, doing 6,738 courses and engaging with 6,156 teachers.
For teachers and students at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, their daily routine has been to go online at 8 am every day, taking classes and having discussions with their teacher and classmates, and leaving their ideas and inspirations on a bulletin screen. The average class attendance at the school was as high as 98.23 percent.
Hong Liu, deputy head of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, said local schools were encouraged to use professional teaching and socializing platforms to attract students and offer quality classes.
"The schools brainstormed ideas and have given play to their respective features and advantages," Hong said.
