An online dance class was recently delivered by teachers from the Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region for their counterparts in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province.
The idea for the class was initially raised by teachers in Nanjing, who were unsatisfied with their folk-dance performances and exploring ways to improve their skills.
Hu Quan, a teacher at the Nanjing school who was at the time attending an educational support program in Xinjiang, decided to talk with Xinjiang teachers about the issue.
Teachers in Xinjiang then decided to hold online dance classes, for which the Nanjing teachers were extremely grateful.
The online class was meant as a way for Xinjiang teachers to repay Jiangsu province for all of its educational support over the years. It also created new opportunities for artistic and cultural cooperation between the two sides.
