An industrial base designed for college students to start businesses in e-commerce and livestreaming was unveiled at Nantong Institute of Technology in Jiangsu province June 22.
The first of its kind in China jointly initiated by a college and a company, the base is capable of hosting 200 livestreaming teams at the same time. So far, 50 teams have settled in the base, with each consisting of a host, a PR (public relations) member, a plotter, a copywriter, a designer and a professional instructor.
"Every team is an epitome of a real company and their performances are decided by their actual sales revenue," said Chen Youlin, the director of the base.
He said the school will focus on three directions. One to take strict control of the quality of their supplies, one to help the sales of rural products from remote mountainous areas, and the last to help inheritors of intangible cultural heritages plan and promote their products.
Wang Baogen, president of the Nantong Institute of Technology, said livestreaming is an innovative business mode and the call of the times. He said he regarded the base as a brand-new attempt at school-enterprise cooperation and will offer new ways to cultivate versatile talents.
