The 10th Jiangsu Book Fair, a major annual cultural event for promoting book reading in Jiangsu province, will be held in cities throughout the province from July 23 to 27, according to a press conference on July 13.

This year, the provincial fair will feature book exhibitions, sales, and various reading activities at its main venue at the Suzhou International Expo Center, branch venues at 111 physical bookstores across the province, and two online venues.

Visitors will be limited due to the epidemic, and as a result the fair was scheduled to go on for one additional day. The main venue will be open until 9 pm.

According to the organizing committee, about 400 publishing groups have been invited to the main venue and are expected to exhibit more than 80,000 books.

The central exhibition area will display books about China's and Jiangsu's efforts to boost social and economic development in the new era as well as epidemic prevention and control stories from Hubei province.

High-quality books highly recommended by major publishing houses and selected booklists will also be promoted.

A much-anticipated book exhibition area for young readers will present a book series themed on Harry Potter's 20th anniversary, top 100 bestsellers for children, outstanding original picture books in China, and winners of international children's book awards such as the Hans Christian Andersen Award.

At the main venue, books from Shanghai, Anhui, and Zhejiang provinces will be exhibited at the Yangtze River Delta exhibition area, and for the first time, a Jiangsu Chorography Pavilion will be set up to showcase the regional culture.

More than 1,200 online and offline reading activities will be held during the fair, including lectures, new book releases, book signings, book exchanges, writer-reading meetings, and more.

In Suzhou, famous writers such as Sun Xiaoyun and Ke Jun will attend as guests. In Wuxi, forums and seminars relating to the development of book-related industries will be held.

Southern Publishing and Media will hold three reading promotional activities for the launch of a new book series on epidemic fighter Zhong Nanshan.

A reading contest for primary and secondary school students and a ceremony for the Cao Wenxuan Children's Literature Award will also be held.

Online channels such as the Jiangsu Book Fair APP, developed by Phoenix Xinhua, and the official website of Phoenix Xinhua will display and sell nearly 200,000 items, including books, creative cultural products, and stationery. There will also be online broadcasting rooms set up at the main venue in Suzhou.

Buyers will also enjoy more special promotions during this year's book fair. For example, Phoenix Publishing Media Group has announced that it will roll out more favorable sales policies than usual.
