5G and virtual reality have brought Southeast University (SEU) alive online, inviting students and their parents to enjoy immersive explorations, local media reported July 20.
A new "trick" to lure students during the college enrollment season every summer, the online school has visited the main buildings of SEU's three campuses and presented visitors with various living and studying scenarios.
They can take a minibus to roam around the campus, or visit a lecture hall for an enrollment meeting. They can also attend traditional SEU festivals, or go through the library, gym, classrooms, canteens and dormitories for more detailed information.
The online school was enriched by stories, photos, animation effects, video and audio documents, and 3D models, and was also powered by 5G and cloud computing technologies, which give visitors fast-loading and informative experiences.
SEU is a prestigious university in Jiangsu province and has been included in China's Double First-class plan since September 2017 to nurture an elite group of world-leading disciplines.
The admissions letter issued by SEU last year, which included a customized stamp and voice blessings for freshmen, went viral on the internet.
