A conference aiming to create more cooperative possibilities among government, universities and research institutions, industrial parks, and enterprises opened in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, Aug 5.
Seventy experts from 40 renowned universities and institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing University brought their research results to the event to explore opportunities for targeted cooperation with enterprises.
Jiangsu University of Technology, which in recent years has forged solid cooperative ties with Zhenjiang government, agreed at the event to pin semiconductors, new materials and telecommunications on their collaborative map.
"We have partnered with 13 Zhenjiang companies on 20 projects in the last two years, attracting total investment of 7 million yuan ($1 million)," said Zhu Linsheng, the university president. "The local government has geared up to create cooperative channels between our school and Zhenjiang companies."
Zhang Diming, dean of the China-Australia Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, also acknowledged the local government's efforts in helping the institute set up a partnership with Lenovo, a Chinese tech giant.
"We will explore more possibilities in industry-university-research cooperation in the city, work hard on turning more AI research results into practical use, and aim to contribute more to the integration of Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou and even the entire Yangtze River Delta region," Zhang said.
