A short video filmed by Jamal Idries, a Jordanian student of medicine from Southeast University, recently won an award for excellence from the Jiangsu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, local media reported.

In her video, Idries recorded what she had undergone during the COVID-19 outbreak and also shared her reflections on the epidemic. She entitled her video 2020: An Extraordinary but Meaningful Year for Me and China.

"I used to want to be a surgeon, use the scalpel to cure diseases, but now I want to study virology, so if something like this happens again, I can lend a hand."
