A short video filmed by Jamal Idries, a Jordanian student of medicine from Southeast University, recently won an award for excellence from the Jiangsu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, local media reported.
In her video, Idries recorded what she had undergone during the COVID-19 outbreak and also shared her reflections on the epidemic. She entitled her video 2020: An Extraordinary but Meaningful Year for Me and China.
"I used to want to be a surgeon, use the scalpel to cure diseases, but now I want to study virology, so if something like this happens again, I can lend a hand."
Idries is planning to further her postgraduate education in prophylactic medicine at Southeast University. Though having stayed in Jiangsu for seven years, she said all her plans include the province.
The contest, named Joint Efforts against COVID-19 in Jiangsu, was organized by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Xinhua Daily Media Group.
