Some students also put on flamboyant costumes, wore delicate make-ups, and moved their hands, eyes, torsos and feet by following master Feng Lei in an established choreography.

"I really appreciated the opportunity to take part in this activity. It was so much fun to paint a facial make-up and play opera," said one student from Ghana.

Though widely practices throughout China, the performance of Peking Opera has been centering in Beijing since the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The art integrates singing, reciting, acting and martial arts.

Jiangsu University has been actively creating an open environment for international students. The school frequently carried out cultural activities and festive celebrations to enrich the students' after-school lives and enhance their understanding of China.
